  • The YWCA Greater Rhode Island will contact you and schedule a face-to-face interview.
  • Upon completion of satisfactory reference checks (and a criminal background check if volunteering to work in a shelter or children) your volunteer experience will begin with placement in a YWCA program.
  • For some placements, formal educational and on-the-job training is required and provided free of charge.

The YWCA requires personal references and a police background check for volunteer positions. Volunteers must be over 18 for most positions.
